Systems Administrator (Paterson C4 Band)

Main purpose of the job: To ensure that all Council Datacenters & Endpoints are in full operation at all material times through the provision of appropriate hardware and software and user support to internal and selected external users.  This Sub-Division shall operate and maintains all Council Datacenters thereby providing Endpoints Infrastructure Services with technical support to enable Council to render an effective, efficient and quality service to all internal and external stakeholders of Council. To further ensure total network availability, stability, capacity and redundancy, across all current and future technologies relevant to Council, and its geographic area of operation at all times. This is to be achieved by the application of appropriate Technology, Software, People, Resources and by planning, implementing, verifying and troubleshooting local and wide-area enterprise networks.

The Infostructure subdivision further provides for Installation / Management / Operation / Configuration / Monitoring of all Networks: LAN/WAN/ROUTING & SWITCHING, VHF/UHF/HF Radio, Potential VHF Medium Range Radio, Telemetry/GPRS, Fiber Technology, Potential VSAT Satellite Links, Microwave Links etc

Systems Analyst (Paterson C4 Band)

Main purpose of the job: To overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of Council's Business Systems, ensuring alignment with the municipality's automation and Digitalisation objectives, particularly those related to digital transformation, smart city capabilities, and data-driven decision-making and reporting. The System Analyst will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to automate business objectives, driving the digitalisation, efficiency and continuous improvement of Business systems and processes. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, and a strong focus on innovation and service delivery excellence, as outlined in the municipality's vision and mission statements. The System Analyst will play a crucial role in the digitalisation and automation journey of the Swakopmund Council across all systems.
