The Youth and Community Development Office aims to improve the overall socio-economic well-being of community members including young people by creating an enabling environment for youth employment and increasing youth participation in local economic development activities within Swakopmund. To achieve the above aims and objectives.

- Link school learners with career counsellors & educational psychologist

- Promote Self & Entrepreneurships
- Tackle the scourge of unemployment and encourage youth to start business
- Training content: introduction to entrepreneurship, feasibility studies, costing , pricing and profitability Analysis, Basic Accounting Principles, business planning and local available support services
- Avail business kiosks for local youth (see site picture)
- Quarterly meetings and site visits to revise goals and develop skills and competencies
- Identify mentors within the network and match with youth
- Conduct training on job readiness skills, job search strategies, compiling CV and prepare and coach for job interview
- Engage employers on existing employment opportunities
- Advises job seekers on employment requirements and on terms and conditions of employment
- Tailor made sessions for employed youth to maintain a job and positive attitude
